Notification of major interest in shares received by SSL International plc on 13 October 2006.

SSL International plc (“the Company”)

The Company has received notification, pursuant to section 198 of the Companies Act 1985,
that as at close of business on 12 October 2006, Capital Group Companies, Inc. and certain
of it’s subsidiaries (‘Capital Group’) were interested in a total of 5,816,336 shares of
the Company representing 3.06% of the issued share capital.

The registered holders of the shares to which this notification relates are shown on the
attached schedule.
