SSL International plc (“the Company”)

The Company has received notification, pursuant to sections 198 to 202 of the
Companies Act 1985, that as at close of business on 9 October 2006, Aviva plc and
certain of it’s subsidiaries were interested in a total of 13,986,914 shares of the Company
representing 7.35% of the issued share capital.
