SSL International plc ("SSL"), the consumer healthcare brands company, announces
the appointment of Gerald Corbett as non-executive Chairman with effect from 1st
August 2005. Ian Martin (aged 70), who has been Chairman since 2001, has already
made known his intention to stand down after the AGM on 20th July.

Gerald Corbett is currently Chairman of Woolworths Group plc where he led its
de-merger from Kingfisher plc in August 2001. He is non-executive Chairman of
Health Club Holdings Limited, the Holmes Place fitness club business and is a
non-executive Director of Greencore Group PLC. From 1997 until 2000, he was
Chief Executive of Railtrack PLC. He was previously Group Finance Director of
Grand Metropolitan plc and prior to that Group Finance Director at Redland plc.
Gerald, aged 53, is married with four children.

Gerald Corbett added:
