Notification of major interest in shares received by SSL International plc on 1 March 2005 

                     SSL International plc ("the Company")                    

                                                                              

The Company has received notification, pursuant to sections 198 to 202 of the
Companies Act 1985, that, as at close of business on 25 February 2005, Cater
Allen International Limited and it's subsidiary companies have a notifiable
interest in 16,200,000 ordinary shares of the Company representing 8.55% of the
issued share capital.
