ProSport, the UK's No.1 sport support brand, has signed an exclusive 3-year deal to supply sport supports to Team GB - the entire Great Britain Olympic squad.
ProSport, the UK's No.1 sport support brand, has signed an exclusive supply deal with the Great Britain Olympic team, Team GB.
ProSport will supply sport supports to Team GB, helping them to go for gold in events such as athletics, judo, hockey, rowing and weightlifting. The agreement with the British Olympic Association (BOA) will give ProSport its highest ever exposure via the world's leading sporting event, the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia (September 16th to October 1st).
The BOA has granted ProSport exclusive category rights to include the Team GB logo on packaging and promotional material. In return, the BOA and its dedicated team of medical professionals will have access to the full range of healthcare products from ProSport owners, SSL International.
With 10,000 competitors from 200 nations taking part, and a worldwide audience of some 4 billion people, the Olympic Games provide the ideal platform to promote the benefits of ProSport.
The 3 year agreement also covers the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
Another new ProSport sponsorship, in conjunction with The Daily Telegraph, will boost product distribution and widen its appeal to keep-fit enthusiasts.
The ProSport Dream Team Gym Challenge, to be held at David Lloyd Fitness Clubs nationwide, will be launched via a direct mailshot to 2,500 health clubs and gyms, and promoted via regular features in the Daily Telegraph starting in June.
The competition will feature teams of 6 men or 4 women taking part in a series of speed, strength and endurance challenges to find the UK's ultimate fitness. Dream Team.
The Final will take place in November, with TV coverage on Sky Sports.
As part of ProSport's international expansion strategy, the product range is being used by the West Indies cricket team during their UK tour this summer. The deal, brokered by ProSport's Trinidad and Tobago representatives, will boost the profile of the brand throughout the Caribbean, as well as in the UK. Supplies of the whole ProSport range were handed over to Ronald Rogers, Windies team physio, by Alec Stewart of ProSport agent FFPS Caribbean at the start of their tour.
The first ProSport RFU Young Player of the Season award was presented to Iain Balshaw of Bath and England at the Rugby Football Union Annual Charity Awards dinner on May 31st at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane.
The award underlines ProSport's commitment to the development of young Rugby talent, as well as supporting the England and Scotland Rugby Union teams, all the home Rugby League nations and Superleague teams.
